On September 7, 2011, Carnegie Mellon announced a $265 Million gift to support CMU. In recognition of the gift, the university's College of Humanities and Social Sciences - of which CNBC is a member - will be named the Marianna Brown Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
