Funds Available
Each CNBC graduate student is eligible for up to $1,000 per year to support travel to scientific meetings. A new year begins each September 1st. Unspent funds may not be carried over to the following year.
Students who need more than $1,000 in travel funding in a given year may write to one of the co-directors, Peter Strick or Michael Tarr, to request an additional amount of up to $500. The request should include an explanation why additional travel expenses are justified. Funds Must Be Authorized In Advance of the Trip Prior to a trip, the student must send an email to either Melissa Stupka ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it - for CMU students) or Lisa Bopp ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it - for Pitt students) and supply the following information (with a cc to their advisor). The student must also include the CNBC Travel Expense Request Form with this email.
To have CMU or Pitt pay for airline tickets directly, contact Melissa Stupka or Lisa Bopp. Reimbursements cannot be claimed for trips that were not approved in advance. |
