Two electronic mailing lists have been created in order to facilitate communication between participants in the Spring 1997 Cognitive Science 200 Seminar. These lists are:
cs200
This mailing list is meant to be a fairly low traffic list, used only for seminar announcements and the circulation of student summaries of talks and readings. If you are interested at all in this seminar, please subscribe to this mailing list.
cs200students
Despite its name, this mailing list is not just for students. This mailing list is meant to be a higher traffic list in which seminar participants may discuss issues which arise during the seminar. Your participation is welcome!
If you would like to subscribe or unsubscribe to either of these mailing lists, please read the instructions, below.
If you would like to send a message to these lists, send mail to:
If you would like to read old messages which have been posted to these lists, you may visit our unindexed online email discussion archive.
The lists of subscribers to these mailing lists is maintained automatically by a computer program called "Listserv". You can subscribe to these lists and unsubscribe by sending specially formatted electronic mail messages directly to the Listserv program.
Do not send mail to the mailing lists in order subscribe or unsubscribe. Send mail directly to the Listserv program, as described, below.
To subscribe to a given list, send mail to
listserv@cogsci.ucsd.edu
and, in the body of the message, write "add
listname". For example, to subscribe to the
announcements list, the body of your message would simply be:
add cs200
Specify the mailing list name without any extensions.
Specifically, do not write
"cs200@cogsci.ucsd.edu" in the body of this message.
You may put anything you want in the subject line of this message. The subject line is ignored.
To unsubscribe from a mailing list, send another message to
listserv@cogsci.ucsd.edu
and, in the body of the message, use the "delete"
command, as in:
delete cs200
For more information on using the Listserv program, there is a web page of information on Cognitive Science Department mailing lists.
