Marlene Behrmann became the CMU co-director of the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition (CNBC) and the George A. and Helen Dunham Cowan Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience, effective, Jan. 1, 2014. She succeeds Michael Tarr, who became head of CMU’s Psychology Department.

Behrmann is a recognized leader in the cognitive neuroscience of vision and has authored many seminal papers on attention, autism, hemispatial neglect, prosopagnosia and word, face and object recognition.
